Easy Crochet Poncho

This is a free crochet pattern for Easy Crochet Poncho with a photo tutorial in each step. 

Needed

Thread:Cotton Thread

(In this tutorial I used 2 strands of #8 thread)

Hook: Stainless Hook size - 00 / 3.50 MM


Terms Used

All terms used are in USA terminology.

Ch: Chain  ;   Sl st: Slip Stitch    ;    Sc: Single Crochet


Easy Crochet Poncho Instructions

Round 1:

Chain 153, sl st to form a circle, be careful not to twist. 


Chain 1, sc in the same st, ch 5, skip 2 ch, sc in next st.


picot, (ch 3, sl st in top of sc)


ch5, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, (sc in next st, picot, ch5, skip 2 sts) around, end w/ sl st to join, picot in 1st sc. (51 5ch sps)

Round 2:

Sl st in two ch, ch1, sc in the same st, picot, 


(ch5, sc in next st 5ch sp, picot) around, 


end w/ ch2, 


dc in 1st sc. (51 5ch sps)

Round 3:

Chain 1, sc in the same st, ch 5, (sc in next 5ch sp, picot, ch5) around, 


end w/ sl st to join, picot in top of 1st sc. (51 5ch sps)

Round 4 - Round 21

Repeat round 2


Repeat round 3


Repeat round 2, end w/ ch5, sl st in 1st sc. Fasten Off.

Crochet Edging

Attach thread in 2 ch sp of the other side, ch1, 2 sc in the same sp, sc in next st, picot in top of sc, (2 sc in next 2ch sp, sc in next st, picot in top of sc) around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. Fasten Off and weave in ends.

Crochet String

Ch 4, 2dc in 4th ch from hook, ch3, sl st in the same st, (ch3-2dc-ch3, sl st in the same st) twice, make a chain, twice the length of your shoulder, enough to wrap around your shoulder and to make a knot and a ribbon. Then, on the other end, (ch3-2dc-ch3, sl st in the same st) 3 times. Back to the string, (ch1, skip next st, sl st in next st) all through the ch, end w/ sl st in first ch. 


 Fasten Off and weave in ends.
