The smaller motif could be a coaster and the bigger one can be a doily center piece table decoration.


This is a great pattern for beginners since all you have to know is to familiarize the single and double crochet.

I created this motif as inspiration for upcoming GAME Yarn Bomb Knit Bomb here in the Philippines.

This Ayala Crochet Circle Motif pattern have 2 sizes, Diameter 4.5" and Diameter 9.0". Just follow the instructions below and you can finish this circle in no time.

Materials Needed

Hook: 5.00MM [US H- 8]

Yarn Weight: #3, DK Weight Yarn

Yarn Used: Cotton hand dyed yard, 8 ply, 100 grams / 200 yards

Tapestry needle for weaving ends.


Terms Used

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet,  Sh: Shell st,

              Sh inc: Shell Increase,   Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip


Stitch Guide

Shell St: 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in specified space

Shell Increase: 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in specified space


Gauge:

small motif : Diameter is 4.5"


Ayala Crochet Circle Motif Instructions

Round 1: Make a magic crochet, [Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc here and throughout the pattern), dc, ch2, (2 dc, ch 2) 4 times more in magic crochet, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 2: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same sp,  *sk next 2 dc, sh in next 2 ch sp, rep * 4 times more,end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. [ 6 shell]

This is the instructions for circle motif diameter 4.5" but if you prefer to have a diameter of 9.0" , please skip these set of instructions and continue to round 3 instead.

Ayala Crochet Circle Motif Diameter 4.5"

D-4.5 (edging 1): Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, 8 dc in the same sp, *9 dc in next sh, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join. 

D-4.5 (edging 2): Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each sts around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Fasten off.


Round 3: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same sp,  *sh inc in next sh, rep * 4 times more, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 4: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same sp,  sh in next ch 2 sps around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 5: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same sp, sh inc in next sh, *sh in next sh, sh inc in next sh, rep * 4 times more, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 6: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the same sp,  sh in each of next 2 ch sp around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 7: Sl st in next dc and 2 ch sp, ch 3, 5 dc in the same sp,  6 dc in each of next sh around, end w/ sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 8: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next sts around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join. 

Fasten Off.
