Here is a free crochet pattern of a convenient water bottle holder that's perfect for hydrating during those hot days of summer. Easy to carry and attractive, it can be done in your favorite colors. Make several in different colors to match any summer outfit.

Girlie's Crochet


This Carla Bottle Holder can carry a 1 Liter bottled water or equivalent water bottle. You can also use smaller water bottles. 

The design I used in this Carla Bottle holder is multiple of 7 sts.


Laying flat measurements: Height: 8 ½ “ x Width: 4”

Ch 3 in the beginning of each round is considered as 1st dc.


Materials Needed:

Yarn Weight: Worsted weight 100% cotton

Yarn: Crème de la Crème  /  0255 Tearose  /  40 g 

Local Yarn: Any 100 % cotton 8 ply

Hook size: 5.00 MM [US H-8]

Tapestry Needle:  for weaving in ends


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Hdc: Half Double Crochet, Lps: loops,  Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip, RS: Right Side,  WS: Wrong Side


Gauge:

9 sts  X 4 rows = 2 inches in dc


Carla Bottle Holder Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 2, 7 sc in 2nd st from hook, sl st in 1st sc to join. [7 sc]

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, 2 sc in each st around, sl st in 1st sc to join. [14 sc]


Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, sl st in 1st sc to join. [21 sc]


Round 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, sc in each of next 2 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 st) around, sl st in 1st sc to join. [28 sc]


Round 5: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, (sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st,) around, sl st in 1st sc to join. [35 sc] 


Round 6-8: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each sts around, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 9 RS: Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, sk next 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 3, sk next 3 sts, (3 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 3, sk next 3 sts) around, sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 10 WS: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 3 dc in next sc, sk next 2dc, (sc in next dc, ch3, sk next 3 ch sp, 3 dc in next sc, sk next 2dc) around, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 11 RS: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in the same st, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, (3 dc in next sc, sk next 2 dc, sc in next sc, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp) around, sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 12-22: Rep round 10 & round 11, end it w/ WS


Round 23 (Edging): Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in each sts around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Round 24-25: Rep round 23, but do not turn and do not cut, continue to handle.

Handle:


Row 1: Ch 3, (dc in next sc) twice.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, (dc in next dc) twice.


Row 3-40: Rep row 2, sk 14 sc, attach the handle in next sc using tapestry needle.


Fasten off and weave in ends.
