This is a free crochet pattern for Cluster Bottle Holder with photo tutorial in each step.



A handy bottle holder for this summer that keeps your water cold for 4-5 hrs. 

The cluster stitch makes your bottle holder more durable and increases the insulation factor.

This is worked in round, from bottom up.  

Finished Measurement of the Cluster bottle holder is

Diameter: 3"  X  Height: 8"

Materials Needed:

Hook: US-G8  /  4.00MM

Yarn: Crème de la Crème, 2 balls, color Tearose


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch,


Stitch Guide:

Beg Cluster: Ch 3, (yarn over, insert hook in specified st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through first 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops, beg cl made. For photo tutorial please click here.

Cluster (cl): (Yarn over, insert hook in specified st and draw up a loop; yarn over and draw through first 2 loops on hook) 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook: cl made. For photo tutorial please click here.

Sc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next st, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 2 times, Yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2tog made.


Stitch Guage

4" square: 8 sts  x  7 rounds of  DC


Cluster Bottle Holder Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (8 sc)


 Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same st, (2 sc in next st) around, end w/ sl st to join. (16 sc)


Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same st, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, end w/ sl st to join. (24 sc)


Round 4: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around, end w/ sl st to join. (32 sc)


Round 5: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next st, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) around, end w/ sl st to join. (40 sc)


Round 6: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next sts around, end w/ sl st to join. 


Round 7: Beg cl, ch 1, sk next st, *cl in next st, ch 1, sk next st, rep * around, sl st in beg cl to join. [20 cl]


Round 8: Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next st around, sl st in 1s sc to join. [40 sc]


Round 9-26: Repeat round 7 & 8

Handle and Edging


Ch 100, skip 19 sts, sl st in next st, do not cut, continue to round 1 edging.


Round 1: Ch 1, sc in next st, sc in each of next 17 sts,  sc2tog in next st and 1st st of the handle, sc in each st across the handle, sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 2: Ch 2, (skip 1ch, sl st in next st, ch 2) across the bottle holder, sl st in each st across the handle, sl st in 1 st st to join. Fasten Off.


On the other part of the handle, attach yarn in the corner of the handle, repeat round 1 & 2 of handle edging.


Fasten Off.
