Crochet Flower Motif

Materials: 

Size 8 crochet thread ( mercerized cotton Monaco ) 15grams 

1.5mm or 1.75mm crochet hook 

cutting tool 

tapestry needle to sew in the ends 


Instructions:

Foundation Ring: 

- Make a foundation ring with 6  chains and slip stitch into the first chain to join. 



Round 1: 

- to step up (counted as the first DC and chain1space) , chain 4 

- DC in the center of the foundation ring + chain 1 (make 11 DC+chain1space sets)

- sc (space) on top of the 3rd chain of the beginning chain 4. ( at the end of this row, there will be 12 DC stitches including the step up chain 4 at the beginning)


Round 2: 

- to step up ( counted as the first trebble + chain1space) , Chain 5 

- TR in the sc joining space + chain1space. 

- TR in the next sc space +chain1space (repeat for all the chain1spaces of until there are 24 TR including the step up chain5 

- SC (space) on top of the 4th step up chain 5 to join. 


Round 3: 

- to step up , chain 4 , TR in the SC joining space to make the petal post, 

- Chain 3, DC 5 times on the TR post to make a petal. 

- SLST in the same space at the bottom of the petal. 

- SC in the next 2 chain 1 spaces.

(repeat for all the CH1 spaces to make 12 petals.       

- slst in the first chain of the beginning CH4) 

- fasten off. 

Optional : Square motif chain and picot edging. 


Round 4: 

- instead of fastening off after the slst to complete the petal rounds, continue with  6 more slst into the next chain stitches 

(this includes the  remaining 3chains of the first petal and the chain 3 after the TR)

- SC on top of the chain 3 on top of the petal. 

- chain 8 

- sc on top of the chain3 on top of the next petal, chain3 picot

- chain 8 ,sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal

- chain 5 , picot , chain 5 , sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal. (1st corner)


- chain 8 

- sc on top of the chain3 on top of the next petal, chain 3 picot

- chain 8 , sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal,

-  chain 5 , picot , chain 5 , sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal (2nd corner) 


- chain 8 

- sc on top of the chain3 on top of the next petal, chain 3 picot

- chain 8 ,sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal,

-  chain 5 , 3 picot , chain 5 , sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal (3rd corner) 


- chain 8 

- sc on top of the chain3 on top of the next petal, chain 3 picot 

- chain 8 ,sc on top of the chain 3 on top of the next petal,

-  chain 5 , 3 picot , chain 5 , sl st into the sc at the top of the first petal. (4th corner) 

- fasten off
