This is a free crochet pattern for Diana Crochet Scarf using a pineapple stitch. This is a fairly complex stitch made simple by creating a pattern that is simple and easy to understand. A great project for beginners that adjusting to more complex stitches.

Diana Crochet Scarf is a start in the middle, then split into two towards the end, then back to the middle then repeat type of project.

The edging on two sides will be the last row of the scarf.

Multiple of 25 sts + 4sts

Size: 4 1/2: x 64"

Hook: US-G  6/4.00MM

Yarn Weight: DK, Light Worsted

South Maid Cotton 8; 120g (2 balls)

Color:  Coral or your desired color

Ch: ChainSc: Single CrochetDc: Double Crochet, Hdc: Half Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip

 

Stitch Guide:

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next dc, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 2 times, Yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.


Gauge:

9 sts x 4 rows of DC = 2 " square


Diana Crochet Scarf:

Row 1: Ch 29, dc in 4th ch from hook (consider ch 3 as 1st dc and ch 1 as foundation ch), ch 3, sk next 4 ch, sc in next ch, [ch 3, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch] 5 times, ch 3, sk next 4 ch sp, 2 dc in last ch.


Row 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp] 5 times, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last dc.


Row 3: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp] 4 times, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 2 dc.


Row 4: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp] 3 times, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 3 dc.


Row 5: Ch 4 (consider as 1st dc and ch 1 sp), turn, dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2, dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc, dc2-tog in next dc, ch 3, [ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp] twice, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp,  dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc,  dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2,  dc2-tog in next dc, ch 1, dc in last dc.


Row 6: Ch 3 (consider as hdc and 1 ch sp), turn, sk next 1 ch sp, sc in next  dc2-tog, [ch 3, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next  dc2-tog] twice, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next 3 ch sp, [ch 3, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next  dc2-tog] 3 times, ch 1, sk next 1 ch sp, hdc in last dc.


Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 1 ch sp, [ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp] twice, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, [2 dc in next dc] twice, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp, [ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp] twice.


Row 8: Ch 3 (consider as hdc and 1 ch sp), turn, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 1, hdc in last sc.


Row 9: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 1 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch sp.


Row 10: Ch 3 (consider as hdc and 1 ch sp), turn, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc, [dc2-tog in next dc, ch 2] 4 times, ch 2, sk next dc, dc2-tog in next dc, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 3 ch sp, ch 1, hdc in next sc.


Row 11: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, dc in the same st, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, sc in next 2dc-tog, [ch 3, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next 2dc-tog] 5 times, ch 3, sk next 3 ch sp, 2 dc in next 1 ch sp.


Row 12-81 or as your desired length: Rep row 2-11.


Cut off.


On the other half of the scarf, attach thread as shown in photo below.


Repeat the instructions from row 1-81.


On last row, do not cut, and continue to edging.

Edging:

Row 1: Turn the scarf sideways, ch 1, sc in the same st,   ch 3, *sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, sk next sc post and ch 3 sp, sc in next sc post, ch 3, sk next ch 3 sp, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sk next dc post, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sk next dc post, rep * 7 times more, 


sc in next joined st, ** ch 3, sk next dc post, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sk next dc post, sc in next dc post, ch 3, sk next ch 3 sp, sc in next sc post, ch 3, sk next ch 3 sp and sc post, sc in next ch 3 sp, rep **across the remaining sts sc in last dc post as shown in photo below.


Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, (ch 3, sk next ch 3 sp, sc in next sc) across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

On the other side: Rep the edging row 1 – 2.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
