Here is a Free Easy Crochet Heart Pattern, perfect for beginner's with a photo tutorial in each step.


My daughter asked me to crochet something for her bag decoration, I wanted to create a key chain. Also, someone asked me if I could make a free pattern for a heart.

Well,  this is for my daughter's request and for someone who are asking for Crochet Heart Applique, here it is. 


Needed:

Stash yarn / thread 

Hook: you may use any size of hook

(in this tutorial I used stainless steel hook size 3.50MM)


Terms:

Ch         :  Chain

Sl st      : Slip Stitch

Sc          : Single Crochet

Dc         : Double Crochet

Tr c      : Treble Crochet

D tr c    : Double Treble Crochet


Easy Crochet Heart Instructions:

Round 1: Chain 2, 7 sc in 2 ch from hook, sl st to join.


Round 2: Ch4 (consider as 1st tr c), tr c - 2 d tr c in the same st,  4 d tr c in next st , tr c-ch4-sc-ch4-tr c in next st, 


4 d tr c in next st, 2 d tr c - 2 tr c in next st, 4 tr c in next st, ch3,  4 tr c in next st, sl st in 1st tr c to join.


Round3: (Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st) 4times,


 ch4, skip 4ch sp, sl st in next st, ch4, skip 4ch sp, sl st in next st, 


(Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st) 6times, ch2, dc in 3ch sp, ch2,  sl st in next st 


(Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st)  twice, end w/ sl st to join.

Fasten off.

Easy Crochet Key Chain

In this tutorial, I will use my heart as a key chain or bag decoration.  I want my crochet key chain to be thick and firm so I make two hearts. On first heart please repeat round 1-2 , fasten off. On second heart, do not cut off instead follow  instructions below to put two hearts together.


Round 3: (Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st) 4times, ch4, skip 4ch sp, sl st in next st, 


ch30, (chain according to your desire length) sl st in the same st, ch4, skip 4ch sp, sl st in next st, 


(Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st) 6times, ch2, dc in 3ch sp, ch2,  sl st in next st (Ch3, dc in the same st, skip next st, sl st in next st)  twice, end w/ sl st to join.

Fasten off.
