Here is a free crochet pattern for Lacy Scarf with photo tutorial in each step to guide you in your crochet journey.

Girlie's Crochet


Optional, you may put tassel on both ends. On my finished scarf, the tassels were crumpled. I used the left over towards the ends of my ball of yarns, hence, you might want to do it the other way around starting from inside to outside of the ball to avoid crumpled tassels. 

This is a multiple of 8 chain + 14


Needed:

Yarn: Red Heart Soft Baby Steps ; Strawberry or your desired color

Hook: US : 9  /  5.50MM


Terms Used:

Ch: Chain

Sc: Single Crochet

Dc: Double Crochet

Hdc: Half Double Crochet

Sl St: Slip Stitch

Sk: Skip

Sp: Space / loop


Gauge:

4 x 4 in : 12 sc / 15 rows


Lacy Crochet Scarf Instructions:

Row 1: Chain 30, sc in 9th ch from hook, ch3, sk 2ch, sc in next ch, ch7, sk 4ch, sc in next ch, ch3, sk 2ch, sc in next ch, ch7, sk 4ch, sc in next ch, ch3, sk 2ch, sc in next ch, ch2, sk next ch, dc in last ch.


Row 2: Ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch3, sk 2ch sp, (4dc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 7ch sp, ch3) once more, 4dc in next 3ch sp, ch3, skip 2ch of next loop, sc in next ch. 


Row 3: ch3, turn, sc in next 3ch sp, (ch7, sk 4dc, sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp) once more, ch7, sk 4dc, sc in next 3ch sp, ch1, hdc in last sc. 


Row 4: Ch3, turn, dc in the same st, ch3, sk next 1ch sp, sc in next 7ch sp, ch3, (4dc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 7ch sp, ch3) once more, 2dc in last 3ch sp. 


Row 5: ch5, turn, (sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch7, sk 4dc) once more,  sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch2, sk next dc, dc in next dc.


Row 6: Ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch3, sk 2ch sp, (4dc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 7ch sp, ch3) once more, 4dc in next 3ch sp, ch3, skip 2ch of next loop, sc in next ch. 


Row 7 and onwards: Reapeat row 3-6 as per your desired length. End with row 4 for edging continuation, do not cut.

Lacy Crochet Scarf Edging:

Edging: This will serve as the edging around, Ch5, turn, (sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch4, sk 4dc) once more, sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch2, sk next dc, dc in next dc. do not cut, turn 90 degree to continue on the side of the scarf. 


Side: Ch2 sk 1st dc post, sl st in next dc post, ch2, (sk next hdc, sl st in next sc, ch2, sl st in next dc post, ch2, sl st in next dc post, ch2) all through the side, 

Ch5, sc in next 2ch sp, ch3, sc in next 4ch sp, ch4, sc in the same sp, ch3, sk 2ch sp, sc in next 4ch sp, ch4, sc in the same sp, ch3, sc in next 2ch sp, ch2, dc in last sp.


Other Side: Ch2 sk 1st dc post, sl st in next dc post, ch2, (sk next hdc, sl st in next sc, ch2, sl st in next dc post, ch2, sl st in next dc post, ch2) all through the side.

Fasten Off and weave in ends. 

Put tassle on both ends.

The tassel was towards the ends of my ball of yarns, hence, you might want to do it the other way around starting from inside to outside of the ball, crumpled tassels.
