This is a free crochet pattern for Marie Beach Top using pineapple design with photo tutorial in each step.

Girlie's Crochet

This is a bigger version of Crochet Kid's Dress. 

The pineapple design in this pattern is multiple of 10. You can easily adjust the size to fit in any size you desire buy adding more chains to your foundation chain. 

Marie Beach Top was crochet from top to bottom with positive ease. 

The finished beach top is measured 34"  X  15".

Easy Beginner: Level 2


Materials Needed:

Hook size: 3.75MM

Aunt Lydia's crochet thread #3 : 900 - 920 yards / more than 6 balls 

color maize or your desired color


Stitch Guide

Sl St: Slip Stitch

Beg Shell: Sl st up to the 2ch sp, ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc in specified stitch.

Shell Stitch: 2dc, ch2, 2dc in specified stitch, click here for details.

V-St: dc, ch3, dc in specified stitch.

Picot: ch3, sl st in specified st, click here for details.


Gauge

4"  -  21 sts  /  8 rows of dc's


Terms

Ch: Chain, Dc: Double Crochet, Sc: Single Crochet, Sl St: Slip Stitch, Sp: Space, Rep: Repeat


Marie Beach Top Instructions:

Chain 180, sl st to join (be careful not to twist).

Round 1: (ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same st, skip 4 ch, (shell in next ch, skip 4 ch) around, end w/ sl st to join. (36 shell).


Round 2: Beg shell,  ch 3, (v-st in next shell, ch 3, shell in next shell, ch 3) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join. ( 18 v-st / 18 shell st )


Round 3: Beg shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, 6 dc in next v-st, ch3, (skip 3ch sp, shell in next v-st,  ch3, skip 3ch sp, 6dc in next v-st, ch3) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 4: Beg shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, dc over dc w/ 1ch in between, ch3, skip 3ch sp, (shell over shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, dc over dc w/ 1ch in between, ch3, skip 3ch sp) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 5: Beg shell, ch2, skip 3ch sp, skip dc, sc in next 1ch sp, (ch3, skip dc, sc in next 1ch sp) 3times, skip dc, ch2, *shell over shell, ch2, skip 3ch sp, skip dc, sc in next 1ch sp, repeat ( to) 4times, skip dc, ch2, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 6: Beg shell, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, (ch3, sc in next 3ch sp) twice, ch2, skip 2ch sp, *shell over shell, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, repeat ( to ) 3 times, skip 2ch sp, ch2, rep * around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 7: Beg shell, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, (ch3, sc in next 3ch sp) twice, ch2, skip 2ch sp, *shell over shell, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, repeat ( to ) twice, skip 2ch sp, ch2, rep* around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 8: Beg shell, ch1, shell in the same sp, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch2, skip 2ch sp, (shell, ch1, shell in next shell, ch2, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, sc in next 3ch sp, ch2, skip 2ch sp) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 9: Beg shell, ch3, (skip 1ch sp, shell over shell, ch3, skip 2ch sp, sc in next 3ch sp, ch3, skip next 2ch sp, shell over shell, ch3) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 10: Beg shell, ch3, sc in 3ch sp, ch3, shell over shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, sc over sc, ch3, skip 3ch sp, (shell over shell, ch3, sc in 3ch sp, ch3, shell over shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, sc over sc, ch3, skip 3ch sp,) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 11: Beg shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, v-st in next sc, ch3, skip 3ch sp, (shell over shell, skip 3ch sp, skip sc, skip 3ch sp, shell over shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, v-st in next sc, ch3, skip 3ch sp) around, end w/ sl st in 1st shell to join.


Round 12: Sl st up to the 2 ch sp, ch3 (consider as 1st dc), dc in the same 2ch sp, ch3, skip 3ch sp, 7dc in next v-st, (ch3, skip 3ch sp, 2dc over shell,  ch3, 2dc over shell, ch3, skip 3ch sp, 7dc in next v-st,) around, ch3, skip 3ch sp, 2dc over next shell, end w/ dc in top of 1st dc.


Round 13 Onwards: Repeat round 19 - round 41 of Crochet Kid's Dress.

Fasten Off and weave in ends.

Marie Beach Top Upper Edging:

Round 1: Attach thread in any shell st, ch1, sc in the same st, ch1, (sc, ch1, sc) in next 4ch sp, ch1, *sc in next st, ch1, (sc, ch1, sc) in next 4ch sp, ch1, rep* around, end w sl st in 1st sc to join.


Round 2: Ch2 (consider as 1st 1ch sp), (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next sc) around, sc in last 1ch sp, end w/ sl st in 1st 1ch sp to join.


Round 3: Ch1, sc in the same st, ch1, (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next 1ch sp) around, end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Round 4: Repeat round 2


Round 5 - Edging: Ch1, sc-picot-sc in the same st, ch1, sk next sc, (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next sc) twice, *sc-picot-sc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next sc, (sc in next 1ch sp, ch1, sk next sc) twice*,  rep *to* twice,


String in next 1 ch sp -- sc, ch83, (2sc-ch3-sl st-ch3-2dc-ch3-sl st-ch3-2dc-ch3-sl st) in 4th ch from hook, (ch1, sk next ch, sl st in next ch) all thru the ch, sl st in sc, sc in the same st  -- 1st string is complete,
