Mini Easter Egg Basket
This is a free crochet pattern for a Mini Easter Egg Basket for your party favors. The perfect giveaway for this coming Easter.
This pattern was crocheted in round from the bottom up, up to the handle. The bow will crochet separately then attach it in 1 side of the handle.
You may use any medium weight yarn in this project but if your plan to use the basket every year, you might consider using 100% cotton.
Attaching of bow is only optional for girl’s basket.
Finished measurement of the Mini Easter Egg Basket are Diameter of the base is 3” x Height is 2” (handle not included)

Terms Used:
All terms are in USA terminology
Ch: Chain, Sc: Single Crochet, Dc: Double Crochet, Hdc: Half Double Crochet, Sl st: Slip Stitch, Sk: Skip, Rem: Remaining
Materials Used:
Hook: 4.00MM [US G-6]
Yarn: Any 100 % cotton worsted weight yarn approx. 23 grams
Stitch Guide:
Hdc2tog: [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook — 2 stitches decreased: Hdc2tog made.
Hdc Camel St: Yarn over hook once, insert hook in the back horizontal bump of next st (or in the specified st), Yarn over, draw the yarn through the chain (3 loops on hook), Yarn over, draw through 3 loops on hook: Half double crochet camel st made.
Gauge:
Pattern round 1-4: 3" in diameter
Mini Easter Egg Basket Instructions:
Round 1: Ch 2, 10 hdc in 1st ch, sl st in 1st hdc to join. [10 hdc]
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in the same st and in each st around, sl st in 1st hdc to join. [20 hdc]
Round 3: Ch 1, hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) around, sl st in 1st hdc to join. [30 hdc]
Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in the same st and in next st, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc in each next 2 st, 2 hdc in next st) around, sl st in 1st hdc to join. [40 hdc]
Round 5: Ch 1, hdc camel st in the same st and in each of next st around, sl st in 1st hdc to join.
Round 6-7: Ch 1, hdc in the same st and in each of next st around, sl st in 1st hdc to join.
Round 8: Ch 1, hdc in the same st, hdc2tog in next 2 sts, hdc in next 18 sts, hdc2tog in next 2 sts, hdc in each rem sts, sl st in 1st hdc to join.
Round 9: Ch 1, hdc in the same st and in each of next st around, sl st in 1st hdc to join.
Round 10: Ch 20, sk next 18 sts, sl st in next st, *ch 1, sc in each st around including the handle, sl st in 1st sc to join*, sl st in the other side of the handle, rep *to*. Make a long loop at least 5" to be use for attaching bow later. Cut off.
Bow Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2 -3: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st and in each st across. Cut 5" yarn to be use to wrap around the bow as shown on the photo below
Fasten Off
Attach bow to the basket using the 5" long tail.
Optional: Cut a 3" round cardboard to shape the bottom.
Fasten Off.

Beautiful and easy

I was making an extra large, so I did 30 rows, and added 3 rows of half double crochet to the bottom. Rows went quickly, and it came out just beautifully.
