Newborn / Preemie Baby Booties

This is a free crochet pattern for Newborn / Preemie Baby Booties.

Start with crocheting around from toe to the middle of the foot, then crocheted back and forth from the middle sole to the ankle of booties, then joining the sole to form a circle then continue to the leg part of the booties, finishing it off by the cuff.

This pattern is good for beginner who wants to advance their skills by crocheting a small project that could be a gift to all mommies.

I created this pattern to complete our beanie and booties for donation for Fabella Hospital, an outreach program of “Crochet Lovers in the Philippines”.

Skills:

Easy - Advance


Materials Needed:

Hook: 3.50 MM

Yarn: Gantsilyo Guru Milk cotton mini

Yarn Substitute: Any #3 Light weight cotton yarn available in your area.


Instructions:
Consist of Toe, Sole, and Leg Pattern

Toe Instructions:

Round 1: Make a slip knot, Ch 7,  3 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each of next 4 sts, 5 hdc in last st, on the other side, hdc in each of next 4 sts, 2 hdc in 1st st, do not join. (18 hdc)

Round 2-6: Ch 1,turn, hdc in each st around, insert your marker in 1st st of each round.

 

Sole Instructions:

Row 1: Ch 1,turn hdc in each of next 10 sts. Leave the 8 sts unworked. (10 hdc)

Row 2-7: Ch 1, turn, hdc in the same st and in each st across. (10 hdc)

Row 8: Ch 1, turn, , hdc in the same st, hdc in each of next 2 sts, 4-hdc-tog in next 4 sts, hdc in each of remaining sts.  (7  hdc)

Fold the sole into half facing right side together, sl st in each st to join.


Leg Part: (Continuation of Toe Instructions)

Round 7: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each of next 7 hdc post, 2-hdc-tog in last hdc of sole and next st of toe part, hdc in each of next 6 hdc, 2-hdc-tog in last st of toe part and next hdc of sole, hdc in each of next 7 hdc post, sl st in 1st hdc to join. (22 sts)

Round 8-9: Ch 2, dc in the same st and in each sts around, sl st 1st dc to join. (22 dc)

Round 10: Ch 2, turn, dc in the same st and in each sts around.

Round 11-13: Ch 1, fpdc in the same st, bpdc in next st, [fpdc in the same st, bpdc in next st] around, sl st in 1st fpdc to join.

Round 14: Ch 1, sc in the same st and in each sts around, sl st in 1st sc to join.

 Fasten Off.


String: Ch 70, Thread the string in round 8 of leg part insturctions.
