Materials Needed

Hook: 5.50MM [US I- 9]

Yarn Weight: #4, Worsted yarn

Yarn Used: Caron Simply Soft yarn, Persimmon 9754, 300 yards

Tapestry needle for weaving ends.


Terms Used

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sp: Space,  Sk:Skip


Stitch Guide

V-st: dc- ch 1 - dc in the same st.

Dc2tog: (Yarn over the hook, draw up a loop in next 3 ch sp, yarn over the hook, draw through first 2 loops on hook) 2 times, Yarn over the hook, draw through all 3 loops on hook: dc2-tog made.

 

Gauge

7 sts  , 2 rows of DC's = 2 "


Vangie Crochet Scarf Instructions

Row 1: Ch 23, v-st in 5th ch from hook, *ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next ch, ch 3, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch, v-st in next ch, rep * once more, sk next ch, dc in last ch.


Row 2: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, v-st over v-st, *[(dc2tog, ch1) twice, dc2tog] in next 3 ch sp, v-st over v-st, rep * once more, dc in last dc.


Row 3:  Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, v-st over v-st, *sc in next dc2tog, ch 3, sk next ch 1 sp - dc2tog- ch 1 sp, sc in next dc2tog, v-st over v-st, rep * once more, dc in last dc.


Row 4: Ch 3 (consider as 1st dc), turn, v-st over v-st, *[(dc2tog, ch1) twice, dc2tog] in next 3 ch sp, v-st over v-st, rep * once more, dc in last dc.


Row 5-115: Rep row 3 and row 4.

Row 116 (edging): Ch 1, sc in the same st, sc in each of next sts around but having 3 sc in 4 corners, sl st in 1st sc to join.



Fasten off and weave in ends.
