This is a  free crochet pattern for Ylah Baby Booties. This is a quick project for beginners and an alternative option to constantly buying shoes for the baby which can become very expensive.

Girlie's Crochet

Customization and accessorizing these booties will make it a unique and fun project.

Crocheted from the toes around then half way with several sts unwork up to the ankle where you have to close the back. Then the upper edging where you will end up on crocheting the strap of the booties.

Pattern is made out of dc, an excellent pattern for beginners.

Finished booties measurement length is 4.5"


Skill Level:

Beginners


Materials Needed:

Yarn: #3 yarn , love knots, 2 balls

Hook: 3.75 MM


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet,  


Gauge:

2” square – 8 sts x 4 rows of DC’s


Ylah Baby Booties Instructions:

Round 1: Ch 4 (consider ch 3 as 1st dc here and throughout the pattern), 11 dc in 4th ch from hook, sl st in 1st dc to join. [12 dc]


Round 2: Ch 3, dc in the same st, 2 dc in each of next st around, sl st in 1st dc to join. [24 dc]


Round 3-5: Ch 3, dc in each of next dc around, sl st in 1st dc to join.


Round 6: Ch 3, dc in each of next 17 st, leaving the 6 dc unworked.


Row 7-11: Ch 3, turn, dc in each of next dc across. [18 dc]

Turn slipper Inside out.  Fold slipper in half, match each st parallel to each other, close the shoe using tapestry needle.

Fasten Off 


Edging:

Turn slipper to the right side.  Attach yarn at the back middle st.

Round 1: ch 1, 2 sc in each of next dc post across, sc in each of next st (the unworked dc of round 6), 2 sc in each of next remaining dc post, sl st in 1st sc to join.

Round 2 – Left Booties: Ch 5, sl st in the same st, *ch 2, sk next st, sl st in next st*, rep *to* 2 times more, ch 17, sl st in 6th ch from hook (button hole), sl st in each ch across, rep *to* around, sl st in 1st st to join. Fasten Off.

Round 2 – Right Booties: Ch 5, sl st in the same st, *ch 2, sk next st, sl st in next st*, rep *to* 11 times more, ch 17, sl st in 6th ch from hook (button hole), sl st in each ch across, rep *to* 3 times more, sl st in 1st st to join. Fasten Off.
