Girlie's Crochet

This Jean Crochet Scarf pattern is crocheted in flat, start in the middle, then split into two towards the end, then back to the middle then repeat type of project.

When the pattern tell you to crochet 5 dc in v-st, it means you have to skip the 1st dc and crochet 5 dc in 2 ch sp.

Stitch pattern is multiple of 10 sts + 4 sts for turn.

Measurement size: Length: 71” x Width: 7”

Materials Needed:

Hook: 5.00MM [US H-8]

Yarn: Red Heart TLC, Powder Yellow, 1 skein (350 yds)


Terms Used:

All terms are in USA terminology

Ch: Chain,  Sc: Single Crochet,  Dc: Double Crochet, Sp: Space,  Sk: Skip


Stitch Guide:

Cluster (cl):  (Yarn over, insert hook in specified st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through first 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops. Cl made.

V-st: Dc, ch 2, dc in specified st.

Picot: Ch 3, sl st in top of specified cluster (cl).


Gauge:

4 inches square = 15 sts x 7 Rows of Dc

Row 1: Ch 34, 2 dc in 4th from hook (consider ch 3 as 1st dc), ch 2, sk next 3 ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ch 2, sk next 3 ch, *5 dc in next ch, ch 2, sk next 3 ch, dc in each of next 3 ch, ch 2, sk next 3 ch, rep * once, 3 dc in last dc.


Row 2: Ch 4, turn, [dc in next dc, ch 1] twice, sk next 2 ch sp and dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next dc and 2 ch sp, *rep [ ] 5 times, sk next 2 ch sp and dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, sk next dc and 2 ch sp, rep * once, rep [ ] twice, dc in last dc.


Row 3: Ch 5, turn, sk next ch sp, cl in next dc, ch 2, sk next ch sp, cl in next dc, sk next (ch sp, dc, ch sp), *[cl in next dc, ch 2, sk next ch sp] 4 times, cl in next dc, sk next (ch sp, dc, ch sp), rep * once, [cl in next dc, ch 2, sk next ch sp] twice, dc in last dc.


Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in the same st, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, dc in next cl, ch 2, sk next (2 ch sp, 2 cl, 2 ch sp), *dc in next cl, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, v-st in next cl, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, dc in next cl, ch 2, sk next (2 ch sp, 2 cl, 2 ch sp), rep * once, dc in next cl, ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, 2 dc in last dc.

Row 95 (serves as End Edging): Ch 5, turn, sk next ch sp, cl in next dc, picot, ch 1, sk next ch sp, cl in next dc, sk next (ch sp, dc, ch sp), *[cl in next dc, picot, ch 1, sk next ch sp] 4 times, cl in next dc, sk next (ch sp, dc, ch sp), rep * once, cl in next dc, picot, ch 1, sk next ch sp, cl in next dc, ch 2, dc in last dc.

Other End of the Scarf:

On the other end of the scarf, attach yarn in the corner st.

Row 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, ch 2, sk next 3 sts, dc in each of next 3 sts, ch 2, sk next 3 sts, *5 dc in next st, ch 2, sk next 3 sts, dc in each of next 3 st, ch 2, sk next 3 sts, rep * once, 3 dc in last dc.


Row 2-22: Repeat row 3-6 of Jean Scarf Instructions

Row 23: Repeat End Edging. Do not cut, continue to side Edging.


Side Edging Row 1: Ch 1, sc in the same corner st, ch 2, sk dc post, *sc in next dc post, ch 2, rep * across the side of the scarf. sk last dc post, sc in corner st.


Side Edging Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, *ch 2, sk next 2 ch sp, sc in next sc, rep * across. 


Fasten Off.

Other Side Edging Row 1 and 2: Attach yarn in other side corner of the scarf, repeat Side Edging Row 1-2

Fasten Off.
